New Malden at a glance

New Malden sits to the east of Kingston, split by the A3 Kingston bypass. North of it you have Coombe and the larger houses towards Kingston Hill; south of it, the busy High Street, the station and the residential roads leading towards Old Malden and Motspur Park. The High Street is well known for its many Korean restaurants, cafés and supermarkets, which bring visitors from across London.

Airport transfers from KT3

New Malden's position next to the A3 gives quick access to the main road network. Typical journey times are:

  • Heathrow: 35 to 50 minutes, via Kingston and the A308/A312, or the A3 and M25 depending on traffic
  • Gatwick: 45 to 60 minutes, via the A3 and M25
  • London City: 60 to 85 minutes across London
  • Luton: 65 to 85 minutes via the M25 and M1

All times are typical estimates.

New Malden station

New Malden station is on the South Western Railway line between Waterloo and Surbiton, with trains via Raynes Park and Wimbledon. If you are coming home with luggage, or arriving late at night, we can meet you at the station and take you to your door. For journeys into central London with bags or children, we can drive you to Victoria, Waterloo or any other terminus.

Visiting New Malden

We often drive people to New Malden rather than from it: family visits, meals out on the High Street, and events. If you are visiting from Kingston, Surbiton or Wimbledon for an evening, book your return at the same time so nobody needs to drive.

Everyday journeys

Our New Malden customers also book us for:

  • Hospital appointments at Kingston Hospital or St Helier
  • Supermarket and shopping trips
  • Term-time journeys with our school run taxi
  • Larger family trips in a 7 seater taxi

From Malden Manor to Motspur Park

New Malden covers more ground than people expect. South of the High Street, Malden Manor has its own small station on the Chessington branch, and Motspur Park to the east is close to the Raynes Park border, with the Beverley Brook running through. We pick up across all of these, and our drivers know which of the roads off Burlington Road and Malden Road connect and which are dead ends.

Visiting family from abroad

New Malden's Korean community means a lot of our bookings here are airport pick-ups for relatives arriving from overseas, often on long-haul flights into Heathrow. We track the flight, and meet and greet is available on request, which helps if your visitors are new to London and do not speak much English. Tell us their names and flight number, and your driver will wait in arrivals with a board.

Areas next to New Malden

We pick up across the neighbouring areas too, including Worcester Park to the south, Kingston Hill and Coombe to the north, Surbiton to the west, and Raynes Park and Motspur Park. See the full list on our areas we cover page.
