Taxi from Kingston to Victoria station

Victoria: rail and coach

Victoria station serves Southern trains to Brighton and the Sussex coast, Southeastern services into Kent, and the Gatwick Express. A short walk south along Buckingham Palace Road is Victoria Coach Station, where National Express and international coach services depart. Tell us which one you need, because the two are a few minutes apart on foot and a lot further with heavy bags.

From Kingston to Victoria

Victoria is about 10 to 12 miles from Kingston. The usual route follows the A3 through Roehampton and Wandsworth, then crosses the river at Chelsea Bridge or Vauxhall Bridge into Pimlico. The station sits just inside the Congestion Charge zone. [State whether the Congestion Charge is included in your fares.]

A typical journey takes 40 to 60 minutes. The roads around Victoria are busy all day, with bus lanes and restricted turns, so your driver will choose the closest legal drop-off point.

Journey times are typical estimates and depend on traffic.

Gatwick Express or straight to Gatwick?

Some people take a taxi to Victoria to catch the Gatwick Express. From Kingston, it is usually simpler and often faster to go straight to the airport by car, avoiding central London entirely. See our Kingston to Gatwick taxi page for timings.

Coach travel

Victoria Coach Station is the main departure point for long-distance coaches. Many coaches leave very early or late at night, when public transport from Kingston is limited. We work 24 hours a day, so you can book a pick-up at any time. Give us your coach departure time and we will plan the journey with time to spare.

Pick-ups at Victoria

For a return journey, let us know your train or coach arrival time. We will agree a meeting point nearby, because waiting outside the station itself is restricted. If you are delayed, call us so we can adjust.

Theatre trips and events

Victoria is close to several West End theatres and to Westminster. If you are heading in for a show or event, you can book a return pick-up with us. For a group, a 7 seater taxi means nobody has to drive or catch the last train home.

A good choice for an early coach

Many coaches from Victoria Coach Station leave early in the morning to European cities and airports around the country. At that hour, public transport from Kingston is limited. A pre-booked car takes you straight there, so you can check in with time to spare. Give us your departure time and the name of your coach operator when you book.

Brighton and the south coast

Southern trains from Victoria run to Brighton, Eastbourne and other south coast towns, and to Gatwick. For a day at the seaside with children and bags, or a weekend away, a car to Victoria takes the stress out of the first part of the trip.

Other stations and local areas

For trains to Kent from the other side of the river, see our Charing Cross and London Bridge pages. Many of our Victoria bookings start in Wimbledon and New Malden, which are on the way into town.
