London Bridge station
London Bridge is a through station with Thameslink services north to Bedford and south to Brighton, Southern trains to Sussex and Surrey, and Southeastern trains to Kent. It is also on the Northern and Jubilee lines. Since its rebuild, the station has a large concourse with entrances on Tooley Street and St Thomas Street, so tell us which side suits you.
Getting there by road
London Bridge is about 14 to 16 miles from Kingston, on the south bank of the river in Southwark. Most routes head north-east through Wandsworth and Battersea, then along the south side of the Thames through Vauxhall and Lambeth. The station is inside the Congestion Charge zone, which applies during charging hours. [State whether the Congestion Charge is included in your fares.]
The typical journey takes 50 to 75 minutes. Traffic in Southwark and Borough is heavy on weekdays, so leave plenty of time for a train you need to catch.
Times are typical estimates. Central and south London traffic varies a lot.
Guy's Hospital and medical appointments
Guy's Hospital is right beside London Bridge station, and many patients from Kingston and Surrey travel there for specialist appointments. Public transport after treatment can be tiring. We can take you to the hospital entrance and collect you afterwards; give us the department and an estimated finish time, and call us when you are ready.
Borough Market, the Shard and the City
London Bridge is a short walk from Borough Market, the Shard, Southwark Cathedral and Tower Bridge, and just across the river from the City. Whether you are meeting friends, going to work or visiting, we can drop you at the address you need rather than the station.
Thameslink to Brighton or Bedford
If you are catching Thameslink, London Bridge is often easier to reach from Kingston than St Pancras. Tell us your train time and how much luggage you have, and we will book the right car.
Returning to Kingston
For pick-ups, we will confirm a meeting point near the station or hospital. Give us your train or appointment details, and call if anything changes. We run 24 hours a day.
Booking ahead
London Bridge is busy with commuters on weekdays, and the station area is often congested. Book your pick-up in advance, and give us the time of your train or appointment so we can allow enough time. For hospital visits, tell us if the patient needs help getting in and out of the car, so we can send the most suitable vehicle.
Thameslink to Brighton
London Bridge is also a convenient station for Thameslink trains to Brighton and the Sussex coast. For a day trip or a weekend away, a car to London Bridge can be easier than changing trains on the way, particularly with children or bags.
